Tinicum Treasures, the bookstore and gift shop operated by FOHR, is located in the main visitor wing of the Cusano Environmental Education Building on the Heinz Refuge.

 

Since the federal budget underfunds the National Wildlife Refuge System, FOHR uses all net nature shop proceeds to supplement the cost of projects and programs at the Heinz Refuge. Projects and Programs funded include but are not limited to environmental education programs, trails and habitat devleopment and maintenance, and special refuge events.

 

The shop is staffed by volunteers. If you would like to be part of the refuge success story, one way to do this is to volunteer one or more days a month. The store is open between 10 AM and 2 PM, though this sometimes varies slightly. The work is easy and personally rewarding. Training will be provided onsite.

We carry "Songbird Coffee" for the coffee lovers in your crowd. Songbird Coffee is a FAIR TRADE ITEM, which means that coffee growers receive a fair price for their effort to preserve precious songbird habitat by growing coffee the old-fashioned way, in the shade. Songbird Coffee comes in bean or drip, regular or decaf,and French Roast.

 

A portion of the purchase price of the coffee is contributed to the American Birding Assocation.
