Heinz Refuge's First Nesting of Bald Eagles

The photos, starting with the upper left and going clockwise, are as follows:

January 13, 2009: The eagle pair begin work on their nest. Here, the male flies in with a stick for the nest.

April 3, 2010: Female perched on a branch overlooking nest with two very young eaglets showing themselves for the first time. They were probably between 8 and 10 days old.

April 8, 2010: The female eagle on nest with her two young eaglets, who have grown considerably in just a few days.

April 8, 2010: Left to right: Male, two eaglets (smaller one is just behind its more dominant sibling). Female pulls at fish to feed smaller pieces to her "growing kids." Note the green metal band on right leg of male and silver on left leg, indicating he was originally from New Jersey.

The map below shows the trail system going around the refuge's east impoundment and the location of the Bald Eagle nest.
